The US dollar recorded a slight decline against the Egyptian pound on Monday, according to the latest figures released by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE). The currency stood at EGP 53.38, compared to EGP 53.50 in the previous session, continuing a period of fluctuation in the foreign exchange market. The British pound declined, reaching EGP 72.45 for buying and EGP 72.74 for selling. Meanwhile, the euro fell to EGP 62.56 for buying and EGP 62.87 for selling. The Chinese yuan also decrease at EGP 7.81 for buying and EGP 7.83 for selling. Among regional currencies, the UAE dirham declined to EGP 14.51 for buying and EGP 14.56 for selling, reflecting demand linked to travel and economic ties with Gulf countries. Overall, the Egyptian pound strengthened slightly against several major foreign currencies.
